Sorry if its spelt wrong,but i was wondering if you could tell me the side affects of taken far to many of these pain killers for a long period of time.I am very concerened over some one who is close to me ,as they have been misusing these tablets and have been tlking at least 20 a day please help me to explain to them the side effects that could happen should they continue talking these tablets!

I understand your concern about your friend. It is difficult to know how much is too much in some cases, due to the fact that over a period of time, even people with legitimate chronic intractible pain will develop tolerance to an opiate/opioid.

The people on this board have just that and this represents a differnt scenario altogether.

There is a forum on Healthboards specifically geared toward addiction and recovery. There are some truly wonderful people there, who I am sure would be able to address many if not all of your concerns. Have you posted there?

I wish you the best of luck and will keep your friend in my prayers.

Sure thing! You just go to the grey strip at the top, where it says message boards and click on it. This will bring up an entire list of all of the different forums on Healthboards. Scroll to Addiction and Recovery and select it. Once it comes up you can click on Start New Thread and you'll be all set.

Please don't think that I don't want to answer your questions. It is just that this board is for people who have legitimate pain and most generally do not take more than what their doctor prescribes, so even though many of us take narcotics, it is not the same as someone who is taking the meds to get high.

The folks on the A&R board are some of the nicest people. They are very kind and knowledgeable. I am sure they can help you with your friend.
