Pain management DR needed Baltimore MD/surrounding area.

Yes I have did some research, no luck.
I had a friend of mine send me to a DR in the city. Turned out he wanted nothing to do with my insurance, cash only.
I could never afford this.
Things are getting really tight around my neck of the woods and i truly need to find a helpful DR.
Thank You,

What about your insurance? Do they have a list of doctors/specialists in your area?

There was a pretty good thread a couple of months ago titled "Need Help In Northern Virginia/maryland." Put it in the search box and you'll find it very easily....It has lots of good information you may find useful.

Good luck.

Regards,

Ex

Hi. I have great spine doctor(s) in Baltimore. Specifically - at Johns Hopkins. I know that they have a pain management program there and they take almost all insurances, including medicare and medicaid. You might try calling them and see if they can see you. If you are willing to drive west toward Frederick Maryland, there are several good pain management practices in this area. You may want to call the Maryland Musculoskeletan Institute in Frederick. Good luck.

There is a pain-management clinic at Johns Hopkins (The Blaustein Pain Treatment Center). I have had several procedures done there. They do require a physician referral and you need to have this faxed to them along with your previous pain treatment effort records. They also do not do much prescribing of medication, however, they will communicate with your primary care physican and give him/her directions for medication dispensing iincluding narcotics if they feel this is needed. I feel they are strongest at making a diagnosis or dealing with a complex case or a poorly managed case that needs some direction and might need to be cleaned up. Just my opinion. Best of luck to you. Lisa

I have a great PM doctor, but he is in Reston. I don't know if you are willing to make the commute from Baltimore to Reston? Personally I would for his level of care. I would be happy to share if you are interested. They have limited their coverage of types of insurances that they accept lately, though.... They are willing to file for you as an out of network provider.. He is Dr. Thomas Nguyen at The Virginia Spine Institute.
