Re: Pain in left bicep
I have a question similar to Loadergirl's and thought I'd use this thread instead of starting a new one.
About 5 years ago I was getting out of a commuter train, holding a ceiling handgrip with my left hand, got jostled and twisted my arm. It felt like a muscle or tissue at the point where the bicep and deltoid meet, had got pulled out of position, and there was intense pain. I massaged it and it sort of went back in place. The pain reduced immediately but continued for a few days.
Over the years it has happened a few times, about four or five times a year, usually when my left arm is raised and moved a little backwards. For example when I reached to pick something up from the car backseat while sitting in the driver's seat. If I relax and rub the arm, I can feel the tissue falling back into place, the pain reduces and takes from one day to three after that to go away. Compression with a crepe bandage helps.
Consulted a doc - he said it was probably just a muscle strain. But I am not so sure. Could it be a torn ligament? Would like some ideas before I consult another doc.
