Pain in left bicep

I have muscle pain in my left bicep and have been going for therapy but not getting much relief. The doctor and the therapist ask about neck pain and checked my neck; there was no increase in the pain when they moved and pushed down on my head. I donít really have a pain in my neck but I have noticed that there is a "pressure feeling" that runs along the left front side of my neck that is hard for me to explain how it feels. It almost feels like your arm dose when your getting your blood pressure checked. It is not as bad when my arm is not hurting as.But get's worse when it dose. I have not said anything to my doctor or therapist yet because they asked about pain and I can't really say it hurts . It is unconfortable at times though. Can these two things be related? What should I tell my therapist or doc. I have not had any x-rays or a MRI. They think I tore a muscle at some point but I just don't know what to think.

Re: Pain in left bicep

I get muscle pain in both biceps and triceps. I have two herniated discs in my neck. I also was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

Have you gotten an MRI of the neck?

No, I haven't had an x-ray or an MRI. The only test I have had is some blood work.

Re: Pain in left bicep

Hi.

I have a question similar to Loadergirl's and thought I'd use this thread instead of starting a new one.

About 5 years ago I was getting out of a commuter train, holding a ceiling handgrip with my left hand, got jostled and twisted my arm. It felt like a muscle or tissue at the point where the bicep and deltoid meet, had got pulled out of position, and there was intense pain. I massaged it and it sort of went back in place. The pain reduced immediately but continued for a few days.

Over the years it has happened a few times, about four or five times a year, usually when my left arm is raised and moved a little backwards. For example when I reached to pick something up from the car backseat while sitting in the driver's seat. If I relax and rub the arm, I can feel the tissue falling back into place, the pain reduces and takes from one day to three after that to go away. Compression with a crepe bandage helps.

Consulted a doc - he said it was probably just a muscle strain. But I am not so sure. Could it be a torn ligament? Would like some ideas before I consult another doc.

Hello, welcome to the board..

You should probably start another thread for yours as people can then read only yours and hopefully give you some advice !
