I have brought both of these on an airplane. I kept all of my meds in my carry-on bag, and I also brought a copy of the pharmacy prescription print out in case there was any question about the validity of my prescriptions. I experienced no problems whatsoever.

It's best to call ahead to the airline you're flying on just to make sure there are no issues. You don't want to have to discard your meds.

I just came back from a flight from the US -out of the country and back again. No problem at all with pills/capsules of meds.
Only liquids and/or gels have to be 3 oz or less and isolated in a quart sized ziplock baggie.
I had my 30 mg oxycodone and ativan and it was not even looked at in my carryon. (Make sure all your pharmaceuticals are in your carryon so they don't "disappear".)
But my checked bag was opened (they left a note) by TSA probably because I had my laptop and charger wires in there.
BTW-disposable lighters are now on the OK list
oh yes, important-always keep in original containers!!!

I've never had a problem with my pain meds and flying. I, too, bring them on my carry on. I just make sure the label on the bottle was up to date and correct.
