I love my pm

Went for my monthly med follow up. The lovely NP that I usually see brought me back and proceeded to ask the normal questions about how I was, any new meds etc. I did fall a few weeks back and hurt my side over my rib area and she examined that. I was guarding it but lungs were clear so off to get a xray to make sure no broken ribs.
She had a print out of all my scripts and there was one that was in error that was called in my OB-Gyn. Ob was to call in a cream and called in some Darvocet in error from an OLD script years ago. I explained to her that the cream was to be called in and when I went to my regular pharmacy NOTHING was there and the pharmacy called WG, my OLD pharmacy and there was the WRONG script ready to be picked up. She told WG to put it BACK on shelf that I wasn't getting it and was there the script for the cream. Of course not. But nice pharmacist called the OB-Gyn to get the right script and I was all set. NP said she jsut had to note my file what had happened and why so it would look like I was Doctor shopping. WOW.. I was scared to DEATH that I would be dropped for not follow contract. SHOULD I have immediately notified the PM that this error happened even though I DID NOT get the meds ? The nurse at OB-GYN had looked at the last med sheet in my file from 2 years ago and called in last medication I had requested ( I know.. shouldn't wait 2 years to go back to OB-GYN ). the cream was a new medication that hadn't been updated in my record at time of visit when I asked Dr to call it in to save me some time that day.. I guess this was my warning in a way. I am considered a model patient there my Doc says. No missed appointments, no early fills, no "lost or stolen meds " so I guess she knew I didn't try anything funny. She even said with what I am on now the Darvocet wouldn't even compare to aspirin.

Re: I love my pm

Life-
I'm really glad this was cleared up with your PM office! I know you had that immediate pang of fear hit you! I would too! (as would most people in our situation)

Anyway, even though you didn't do anything wrong, it might would have been a good idea to let your PM know when it happened, but again, it was easily cleared up so no harm done.

My general rule of thumb is that anything "out of the ordinary" that happens with any of my medications I report to my PM right away. This way, I don't have to worry about the appearance of any kind of "hanky-panky" if you know what I mean. These days, it's never good to take a chance.

Again, I'm really glad nothing bad came of this as you didn't do anything wrong. Take care!!
