| Re: Cervical facet rhizotomy ??? Ive had 2 of them done in my DRs office ( hes also an anestialogist) ..excuse the spelling .... and in one big room in his office is alot of monitors, looks like and exray thong that he puts on one side of your neck, and then on the screens, he and his team can see where the needle is going in ( if you look to the dide , u can too...I didnt mean to , but did).....
Anyways...even tho Im on heavy duty pain meds, he still gave me ( with of course a designated driver , that I was told to have com e with me) an IV and some type of IV relax you injection...not by any means to knock you out but to relax you..... Then you take a deep breath, let it out and relax and dont move..
You ARE very sore the next day. Muscle wise...I was kinda numbish up and down a band like portion on the right side of my skull.... And the soreness didnt really subside for a couple of days........
To me it didnt do much if anything for me ..I did it twice and last time was 3 years ago. He does ask every few visits if Id like to try it again..
It may help some , just didnt me....
I didnt even know what the procedure was called til it was written about right now, and I googled it and sure enough, Ive done it too !.....I think the numbness will go away totally by 2 weeks ..... oh...if Im not mistaken mine were 5/6 and 6/7.... the 3/4 is now showing its mean self, but like I said, think Ill pass |
