The outcome is different for everyone. Some people come out pain free or lesser pain while others it does not help the pain whatsoever. I'm one where it did not help the pain whatsoever and I had my fusion 2 months ago.

3 of my good friends have had this surgery and each one has done terrirfic. Of coarse they had some pain the first few weeks but after a month they were all doing very well. You have to wear a cervical collar for awhile in the beginning and you can't drive and you will need to rest, a lot. But we are now years into the surgery and each one of them is pain free today! They all suffered for 15 plus years before the surgery and now there active, doing sports, working and living there lives and doing great. They say it was the best decision they had ever made. My husband needs this operation and I am anxious for him to get it since his neck hurts him 24/7 and he has numbness and constant pain. I hope you also have a great outcome and are pain free after you heal.

Good luck and follow DR'S orders to a "T"

Re: Cervical Infusion witlh titanium plate Neck-Surgery May 14th

check out the spinal cord board. Lots of people on that board have had the surgery. I had a fusion about 16 months ago. It did not go very well for me, but I have heard that the majority of people do very well afterward. I had excruciating pain for a year afterward that was not well controlled on any medication. I am now on long-term pain management and I am doing somewhat better. I supposed it does somewhat depend on what your situation was before surgery. what does your doc say is causing your pain right now?
