Quick Pain reliever question for smart people :-)

Is there a "pain reliever" other than an anti-inflammatory or the ones that work in your head and block nerve stuff? Horrible way to form the question but its the best I can come up with. Ibuprofin works very well but no where near well enough lately and narcotics only seem to make me loopy! I want a pain reliever that doesnt screw with my brain but is stronger than advil??? Is there such a thing? (I mix ibuprofin and acetominophen now)

Thanks!

If you have nerve pain - there are some good medications that are non narcotic called lyrica and neurontin (gabapentin). You might look into these and see if they are what you are asking about.

Re: Quick Pain reliever question for smart people :-)

hi. I'm taking now neurontin and percocet. lyrica didn't work well for me. neurontin is better for neck pain. I'm really feeling better now. but it's wearing off. WHY IS IT WEARING OFF???I'm really worried. I don't know what's the max for neurontin? anybody?. so for now I'm on neurontin 1200mg but i believe it's not that much.

P.S they say lyrica and neurontin are the same. strange, the cheaper medicine neurontin works better.
