Monthly office visits expensive ???

I am new to the pain management world and i have a question. i need to see the pain mgmt people every month to get a refill for my NUCYNTA. The office there said it should not be as expensive as a regular office visit since it would be with a physician assistant. Anyone here know the deal with these visits??
my insurance is with Medical Mutual of Ohio.:dizzy:

Some medications can only be filled for 30 days because they are not allowed to be refilled, this forces you to go to the doctor every 30 days. It's up to the doctrine on what she wants to charge, a lot of the times will charge level III or level IV for your appointments. The difference is about $50 where I live. The different levels is based on the amount of time the doctor spends with you in the amount of stuff he discusses with you.

Hope this helps.

Be well,

Michael

The cost will depend on your insurance plan. Mine is the same co-pay regardless of whether I see a Dr., a PA, or a NP. The best way to find out is to call your insurance company and ask, the phone number should be on your insurance card. The co-pay's for mine are printed right on the card.

the doctor's office can charge 50 bucks or 500. the insurnace company has nothing to do with what the docs office charges. the insurance company will tell you how much of that doctor visit they will cover. i would expect that if you are goibg in for one script to be refilled then they will charge the same or slightly less than a regular office visit. call the doc's office and ask for the billing department and ask them your question and they will tell you exactly what they will charge you.
