desperate for help

Hi my name is Matt and I live in pittsbirgh pennsylvania. This past november I was attacked by a dog and suffered a severe, bone crushing injury to my hand. I can barely move the fingers on my hand and it's still pretty swollen two months from my injury.

I saw a so called "pain management" specialist at a upmc hospital and was told that my pain was all in my head. If anybody wants to know who that doc was.......ask and I will tell.

Does anybody out there know of pain management doc in pittsburgh pa who has sympathy for their patients????? I'm at my wits end with doctors....any help will be appreciated.

Thannk for listening

Hello and welcome. I've heard that before. In fact, my PM(who I've dumped)told me 90% of the neck pain I have is my pure imagination! I thought I'm the only one who was told this and now it's you telling us that. and I tell you I really suffer. It's a pressure on my neck's nerves and he was telling me 90% is my pure imagination.

don't give up hope!. look again and you will find a doctor who will listen to you. Sometimes what they see on a scan(MRI, x-rays)cannot tell the amount of pain you are actually having, I was told that also.

Now, my primary care physician is giving me all the meds I need. He knows what it means to suffer from chronic pain more than the PM I dumped!. Some doctors are not supposed to be doctors you know?.

I don't live in PA, but I think there are some here who live in that state who can help you.

I truly hope your pain won't be chronic so you won't be in our/my situation of needing those doctors all the time.
But it's too early to tell.

Good luck to you.
