I had a cortisone shot in the thoracic region three weeks ago and then had hypomania and over stimulated feeling (I'm Bipolar). Then after my next injection my body can't regulate its temperature properly. Has anyone had these reactions? How long do they last?

I had a steriod injection had several but this last one my sugar levels were high, my blood pressure was high also nervous and depressed the injection didnt help anyway went to dr said I was having reaction to injection and you just have to wait till it passes i waited a week she did blood work all came back fine but still dont feel right I was fine until that injection the dr said it could have been made by a different company and different fillers are used and I could have had a side effect from that.

Thanks. It seems similar has happened to me more than once now.

I do know that steroids can make a change in sugar levels and also it can create a VERY hot feeling throughout the body. You should mention this to your doctor. I know that prendisone makes me VERY shaky.

How long did this last? I forgot to mention it made me very hot/cold also. One night I was DRENCHED in sweat. That's never happened whether with extreme anxiety or the flu (not to that degree).

Every injection is an ordeal. Not during but everything else.

Cortisone or any steriod causes sweats are you getting to much steriods I know you can only get so many shots in a year and if your on the oral stuff that can make stuff worse

I know after this last episode I will not get shots or take any more pills the after effects are worse than the problem
