| Re: what vitamins, foods or other benefit the body while on pain medication?
vitamin D is defitnitly affected by cronic pain over time.
take a hydroxy 25 test to see you vit D levels.
i think if you are under 30 then you are deficient. most cronic pain people of at least one year are deficient. the goal is to be as close to 100 as possible.
if you take lots of heavy-duty narcotics then your hormones will be affected.
you are already getting blood drawn for the vitD test so get your testosterone and/or estrogen tested. you will sleep a hundred times better when you get these levels back to normal.
b12 levels---another blood test---should try get b12 above 800. a lot of people try for 1000 and its safe to go up to 2000
these 3 that i mentioned above barely registered on my first test. 6 months later the numbers were looking better and after 12 months i am finally in normal range.
good luck
