Hi Lady!,
I'm thinking the problem is more your doc, than the med. I did'nt start getting good pain relief until I got to the 60-80mg TID mark with Oxy. Presently at 80mg TID with 60mg as needed for B/T's - and thats doing okay fo now.
Please investigate a Pain Management doc, and see what they can do for you, before kissing off your old doc! As time goes on, a good pain doc on your team makes all the difference. As you know, my situation has gotton worse, and without a doc willing to change with me - I would be screwed, stewed, and Tattoo'd!!
As Dave said, they have to be flexible, not much help if they refuse to help you. How prevalent are PM docs in your area? Would you have to drive far to see one? Even so, I think it would be worth you checking out, see what's available. If the patch needed changing at the 48 hr mark, you would be right back in the same boat. And the refusal on B/T meds also bites. My understanding [like my doc did to me] is after 6 months or so, with no probs, my doc started with the B/T meds, slowly to see if I would ball it up {me?

] and slowly has increased his trust of me, and my input.
Only want the best for you kiddo, please check-out what's available around you....I KNOW it SUCKS starting with another doc, but long-term - you will be more comfortable, and therefore better off-IMO
Take care [good to see ya here, there, anywhere!]
