abdominal pain - Pain Management Message Board

Hi, I am new to this board. I hope I can find a quick answer here because I am not sure if this is worth a trip to the doctor's office. I've had this abdominal pain in the morning only when I wake up. It's been going on for a couple of weeks. It feels like it's right under the belly button, and it hurts more when I breathe in and expand my abdominal cavity. The pain seems to be at the cavity wall itself, because it doesn't feel like stomachaches or going-to-the-bathroom pain. And it goes away quite quickly after maybe 10-15 minutes. Sometimes if I don't have a good night's sleep and wake up in the middle of the night, I can feel it too. (I actually wonder if the pain wakes me up) It's not a very sharp pain, so I am so far just plain confused (and a little worried...) Can anyone help? Thanks so much!!

Sounds to me like its involving either your large or small intestine. I really wouldn't know for sure though. It could be many, many things. Best thing I can suggest is see your family doc. Welcome to the board though. This is a great site. I'm kind of surprised noone has answered your post. Take care and let me know what you find out.

Hmm where should I begin?? Crohn's disease, sacroiilitis-crohn's related, scoliosis, spina bifida occulta, chronic myofascial pain, tmjd and migraines. Still waiting for bone scan and bone density test to tell me what else is wrong with me!! Too many surgeries to list!!

I really am not sure about your problem at all. But I would see a Stomach Doctor.

I don't tend to think it sounds too serious, but I certainly would have it checked by a Dr. Have you had any previous abdominal surgeries? I myself have chronic pelvic pain due to adhesions(scar tissue). Can't hurt to have an appt.,, if nothing else to put your mind at ease. Take care and let us know....Surgical Disaster
