Bioclusive Dressings Incease Fentanyl Production??? - Pain Management Message Board

I have heard that by using the Bioclusive dressings to keep the Duragesic Fentanyl Patches on "can" deliver higher doses into your skin.

Is this true or false?

Thanks for any input. I have been using the Bioclusive dressings for years and never noticed any difference, but then again, I have to change my patch every 2 days rather than every 3 days. But it was that way before I even used the bioclusive dressings.

Hi Baily, The way the patch works, the more area that is in contact with your skin the more you will absorb. Each patch is larger than the smaller dose patch.

Using a BIO dressing will keep more of the patch in contact with your skin by prevbenting the patch from lifting. So in theory, if you have a problem with placement and lifting the dressing should make it a little more effective.
