Duragesic patch (Fentanyl) - Pain Management Message Board

Has anyone ever tried this patch? I am in chroinic pain with my Fibromyalgia, and need something to provide me with constant relief. I have a doc appointment today, would it be wrong of me to ask about giving it to me. Does it help any of you?? and if he does give me this, do you think he would give me anything else for breaktrough pain?? Just wondering, please give advice. I need to know what to tell my doctor who seems pretty understanding.

my aunt has FM and she tried, said it didn't help for her. I have used them and they work for me, but i dont have FM...
give them a try, they're get if they work. you just put it on and then your good for 3 days. you might needs something extra though for breakthrough pain though.

starchild i take the patch and it does work great few side efects but it is incredible to get up on your first morning and not have to wait for something to kick in so you can function just jump out of bed.

Hello and welcome star..
I have been on the patches and they did not work for me I had awfull side effects, but i do hear if they do work they are pretty ammazing..

I would have thought if your doc feels that you need these patches he will offer them to you these are very expensive and controled drugs, You would be kept undera very close eye while wearing these patches, you would normaly try other stuff before these maybe Oxycontin..
