Ok. So...a lot of you probably saw my post a while ago about my PM's office making a policy about no longer prescribing breakthrough meds and rattling off a ton of nonsense about the FDA making them do it.
Ultimately, you all are right that I will most likely have to go elsewhere for my pain care, one way or another. I've been looking into this, but oh wow, it's so intimidating and scary.
I'm posting once again to see if anyone can help me. Hey, you never know.
I'm looking for a PMD or PCP/GP who can do PM in the east TN area, and I'd prefer not to go any further west than Knoxville.
I've already tried searching and advanced searching here on these boards, but have come up empty-handed.
Thanks in advance for any advice (and for all the advice everyone has given me already).
get a pain referrel to birmingham, al-that's gonna be the best you can do from where ur at-there are some other good ones in dothan,al-but you must have dr ref-the good pm rs here will only take a phycian referral to keep out the seekers-i have a very good one in al.
There is absolutely no way I can travel to Alabama. Thanks for the input, though. There simply has to be something closer (I refuse to believe there are no good PM docs between here and Alabama - that's just ridiculous).

I just meant that I searched the boards and found no suggestions (yet), so I posted again to see if anyone who reads the boards NOW has any.
My insurance has plenty of PMs in this state, but I have no idea which one to choose. My insurance will most likely not pay for me to go out of state, and money is a huge issue (only get SSI). Travel would be tough both physically and financially, not to mention that I'd have to pay for the visits themselves and probably overnight accommodations somewhere. And then there's getting out-of-state scripts filled (is that even legal, how, and I know my long-acting med costs at least $140/month at the lowest dose).
