hi-no, i think you are rt-i am on the opana 40 also-and prior to that i was on oxycontin 60mg 3 a day, but the oxycontin gave me severe anxiety and even the klonapin my dr gave didnt help it-but the oxycontin gave me good pain relief. so my dr said he was gonna put me on the opana 40mg and he told me it is twice as strong as oxycontin-so he lowered my bt med amount and said i would only need 2 instead of the 3 oxycontin cuz these opana were supposed to be so much stronger-but IMO they are not and im so disappointed. he also gave me opana IR 10mg and they DO work better and relieve my terrible spinal pain-but my ins co sent me a letter saying they pd for the 30 day supply as some kind of courtesy because i've just had the ins since jan 1 2011-but it is not on their formulary-but they said they may continue to pay for it if my dr sends a letter appealing my need for this non-formulary med-and it does help me so much-i'm allowed to take 1 every 4-6 hrs and they last a long time-and its the breakthru med!-i have never gotten so good of pain relief froma any other medication-so see if you can try the opana IR 10mg and i think they will help you-if you o get your dr to prescribe them please let me know if they do help you-but as for the opana ER 40mg-they do not relieve my pain at ALL! i was once on morphine sulphate(generic) before i had ins-and i see my ins pays for a brand name morphine sulphate called Kadian and i'm going to ask my dr about it-because i dont want to refill the opana 40 when i get no relief at all. please let me know, good luck
