Has anyone purchased one online or thru a medical supply company. I'm seeing really reasonable rates!!!! No way my insurance will give me another one (been with the same insurance for years and they paid for the first one). Can't figure out where it went unless it got lost someplace I was visiting. I have some of the materials and the lumbar corset but not the actual unit.
Yes, I got mine over the web, from the UK. If you've been looking online, you can find that company. I wouldn't hesitate to order online from the US suppliers either. I think I spent about $60 and another $10 for shipping. Back when I saw a PM doc I tried one of the "your insurance pays" types and it didn't have as many setting options as the one I've got and they wanted my insurance to pay over $600 for it, I sent it back the next day.
My insurance company paid for the first one about 3-4 yr ago. Since I'm still under the same insurance plan and ins co they won't give me a new one (doc said if I could prove first one was broken maybe, otherwise not). Ii had a new ins co now then I could likely get one. My old PM doc was great, at the end of each year his insurance staff would evaluate to see which patients have reached annual deductible and out-of-pocket max then he'd see if there was any equipment the patient could use. So mine was $0! At the time it was just neck but TENS rep offered the back wrap as part of the package. Glad she did!
