Smile Hello I am new here.
Hi Everyone,
I have a question i need help with.I have chronic pain that i am on pain medicine for.I am on 15mg morphine sr 2 times a day and oxycodone 7.5/500 for the breakthrough pain.But lately the pain has been so bad i have been taking the morphine and the oxycodone together to get relief and be able to function.
I am new at pain meds i hate meds and doc talked to me a year before i would even try it.Its has helped but not as well as i need it to.
This is my question.Does anyone know what would be equal to taking 1- 15mg morphine and 1- oxycodone together?I tryed the 30 mg of morphine at
1st a year ago and it doped me up and i couldnt stay awake. and it was to strong for me.I also will need breakthrough pain meds.I need to know what my options are before i go back to the doctor.I would like to educate myself to what might help me manage my pain the most.Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

I would try a higher does of oxy 20- 30 mg.... morp makes me tierd too. I can function on oxy... everyone is diffrent but thats what i would try. I'm new here also hello everyone

The morphine "drowsies" usually last for a bit (1 or 2 weeks) but then you adjust. You could always go up to 2 15mg morph's a day. 1 in a.m. and 1 in p.m. then use the oxycodone in between for BT as needed. Although BT meds aren't really meant to be taken everyday....just as needed.

You could switch to Oxycontin as your LA med and use something like Percocet for your BT med.

There are quite a few different choices...what does your doc suggest?
