Looking for IN Patient Pain Mgmt Programs

Has anyone here gone for help to an IN patient pain program? If so, have you gotten help to move on with your life? And what facility have you gone to? I need to find the BEST IN Patient program for chronic pain for my boyfriend. He has a pm doctor on an outpatient basis and its NOT working anymore. If you have any recommendations, I would be very grateful. I have looked online for hours. I need input from patients because I want this to work for him. He can't live this way anymore. Thanks.

Lynne

Re: Looking for IN Patient Pain Mgmt Programs

Are you looking for a place that will wean him off his meds entirely, and teach him other ways to cope with his pain? Or, something entirely different? ...janiee

Lynne, Just wanted to add that if he wants to get off his pain meds, then I know that's what the program at the Cleveland Clinic does. Good Luck to the both of you!!...janiee

Re: Looking for IN Patient Pain Mgmt Programs

This thread is a bit old, but you can find programs like that. The best place I know of is Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, they have a 5 day, 2 day or out patient program. You drive in for Monday-Friday.. or 2 days a week and it's a 9-5pm. This is not to get off medication. You have your meds, then you do PT, massage, biofeedback etc. I would look them up. They are voted best.
