Looking for Doc in Westchester NY area

I am 3 months post-op revision scoliosis surgery. I am now fusted from T6 all the way to sacrum. Having major pain at the site of the bone graft and where the instrumentation is (rods, screws etc.) Since my xrays look good, my doc wants to send me to a pain managament specialist as there is not much more he can do. Problem is that he is in CT and I need someone closer. I am on oxycodone 5 mg and valium 5 mg now. Try to take only 3 to 4 pills of the oxy a day but its tough and I need to get back to work. Current regimen is not working. As they lower the dosage the pain gets worse and I cant get comfortable. I saw someone yesterday in Hartsdale and thought he was a complete quack. If you have any suggestions - at this point i think it's just the drugs need to be altered, I'd really appreciate it. I'm in Northern Westechester.

Thanks,
Jody

Re: Looking for Doc in Westchester NY area

Jowilly,
The best place to find a new doctor is to check your insurances' website. They usually have a listing of preferred providers for you to choose from . Recommendations can also be had by calling your insurance company , as they usually have feeback on the preferred doctors they have listed.
You can also check on the web, at the various doctor review sites. They usually have tons of feedback available from patients who have seen the doctor.
Best of luck to you, healing from a fusion, especially an extensive one is a long journey.
