I guess that I am one of the lucky ones. My PM requires that you bring your meds in to be checked every visit. He has a statement on the contract and on the clipboard when you fill out your info that states that a UA may be required. When I asked about it he told me that he has people who come in requesting more and more meds and they don't show up in their urine. Then he looked at me and said "I can't get you to take meds, much less ask for more! You I don't worry about." It is nice to have the trust of your doctor and don't plan on doing anything to negate that! I have been with him for 8 years.

I must state also that i've been with the same neurologist for 7 years and although i've told her of my past, she fully trusts my judgements going forward.
It's nice to know that someone in a prominent position trusts me.I have no intention on letting either of us down.
"The fact that any clinic lets you take your handbag in is kind of negates the reuirement for the test...anyone could have someone else's "clean" urine with them to substitute for their own."
You mean dirty (technically) don't you. No one being prescribed narcotics wants a clean UA.
Sorry my seizure addled, migraine pain filled head was not so clear last night. No, I actually meant "clean" in the sense of clean urine filled with just the right drugs that the patient is supposed to be taking and not filled with illegal or other drugs that the patient should not be taking.
Thanks for bringing what you conceived as an error to my attention.

Don't ya love Doc's like that! I've been with mine for 13 and am constantly frustrating her because I won't raise my pain meds. We have a great relationship though. I see her once a month, and when she walks in the exam room, she kicks back puts her feet up and says, "whats up?" and we shoot the breeze for a while. LOL it's her unofficial coffee break!

Now that's truly a GREAT patient/doctor relationship! I can't say that I'm that lucky but things are working so far, so I'm grateful for that at least. Good Luck as always.
