Re: BuTrans patches (buprenorphine)

I don't know anything about those patches. I am on Fentanyl duregesics Patches. Do you know what kind of meds that give out? Is it anything like Fentanyl? If I had more info on it maybe I could find someone who has been on it and can better help you. Good Luck. Have you tried it yet? how is it working so far?

Re: BuTrans patches (buprenorphine)

Hey there. Ive never had experience with the patch and can only give a little info. Buprenorphine is pretty much one of the strongest opiates out there besides fentanyl. It also produces less side effects than other pain mediction. It's the primary drug in suboxone. Minus the nalaxone <-sp? Which is basically an opiod blocker. So the patch should be pretty effective. Others will have to chime in on how it actually works when worn. Sorry for the lack of concrete info I just felt like typing. Hope all is good with everyone.

Re: BuTrans patches (buprenorphine)

Hi, I have been on the 10mg patch for the last 3 months and find it terrific. No side effects, and I rarely need anything for break through pain. You stick the patch on once a week and forget about it. It stays in place for the week even with showering every day.

Hope you have the same results,

Re: BuTrans patches (buprenorphine)

I've been on the patches for about 5 months now and am so very grateful for them! My pain level has gone down from a 7-8 to a 2-3. I have never even had to use a breakthrough med. Also, practically no side effects. Good luck with them!

Re: BuTrans patches (buprenorphine)

I just tried these last week. Unfortunately they didn't work for me. I was on 10 mcg/hour patch and had a horrible reaction to it. I broke out in a blistery rash after just 3 days. Pain relief wasn't good for me either. Hope you have better luck!
