Re: Meds that help?

Yes! It was an oral spray called Cobroxin. I had to order it online. I was having a terrible time with my pain, and I asked my support group what I could do, and this was recommended.
Don't be alarmed, but it is diluted cobra venom. But it DOES work!!! Research it! I'm not the only one! There are tons of people who state it's helped them too!
Good luck! I hope it helps ya!

Re: Meds that help?

Hello Friends-

This one may not work for everyone, a tip from an old and dear GI Doc I had many years ago. Roll up a wash cloth very tightly, place in mouth between teeth.... Now, bite down. I've found if you add a muted scream to it -that the result is much better. Other than that, I like good old Aspirin and Alka Seltzer.

Iso~

Hello. How are you?? I realize this is an "older" post, but, still, I have something very important to share. After our rollover car accident, which was the very beginning of my back problems, I started taking Naprosyn (Aleeve is the popular name brand). Over time, I continued to up the dose (after all, it's not even a narcotic, PLUS it's OTC) Within a year, I had bleeding ulcers. To make it worse, I just thought I had the "D" word from drinking in addition to the Naprosyn. The more pain, the more I increased both. Until one day, I passed out. A trip to the ER showed I had bloody stools and bleeding ulcers. I almost died from this, since my blood count was between 3 and 4 (normal is about 12). I was very young and naive then, but still, nowadays we DO have google. If nothing else, google it! Ask any notsosure question to a pharmacist even. That's free. I just wanted to share this because sometimes it's easy to think that OTC means harmless. And that's NOT true. I almost died thinking that way. Thank you for this question! Great question!

Thumbs up Good Reminder for Everyone! Thanks Maysee

I controlled my pain pretty well with 3-5 naproxen a day for several years before it chewed up my GI track and I had out of control high BP. Now NSAIDs allowed at all anymore. Brother (62) only moderately used ibuprofen before being rush to ER, unconscious, almost internally bleeding to death, no outward signs, 5 days in hospital.

People don't know, or forget that all NSAIDs are dangerous if taken nearly everyday for a long period of time.

Re: Meds that help?

It's not a pill, but biofreeze helps a bit. I use it on those really bad days where I'm looking for anything that might help. I'm also a big believer in using ice, I rarely go anywere without having an ice pack in the car at least.
