I've had the type of pain you describe before, but it didn't really start occuring until I was well into my 30's. In my case, it wasn't anything serious as I had it checked out by my doctor. It's hard to say what could be causing it, but I would definitely make an appointment to see your doctor. It's not likely to be anything serious but there is no sense in trying to figure it out online. I say this only because I have attempted to do this many times myself and have been wrong almost every time!

It can be scary to have pain down there, but like I said, the sooner you get it checked out the better off you'll be, that much I can promise.

Re: Pain in right testicle?

It could be Prostatitis which is a bacterial infection of the Prostate gland. You should see for family Doctor and you may need to be seen by a Urologist who specializes in these things. Hopefully it is only an infection which can be cleared up with a month or so of antibiotics. Also stay away from Caffiene, Alcohol, Nasal decongestants, all of which can be very irretating to an inflammed Prostate gland. Pain in the Testicles can be a symptom along with pain deep in the Perineum, the area under the Testicles and between the Anus. Some only have one symptom or more than one.
It also could be other things as well and one of those is Male Chronic Pelvic Pain, or some call it Non-bacterial Prostatitis, same thing. I don`t want to scare you at all, just share a little of my story and if you have questions I will try to answere them in order to try and help if this continues and or gets worse. For me I have had very painful Testicles for a very long time. It started when I was 19 with pain once in a while in both my Testicles similiar to what you were saying and pain after ejaculation among a few other things. The pain became constant and unbearable and I saw many Doctors and Specialists over the years along with taking an unbelievable amount of different medications and to this day I take a few meds just to make the pain bearable. Diagnosis Male Chronic Pelvic Pain that I am told I have to live with. Alcohol made it worse especially the day after drinking, Coffee was also irritating as well as Nasal decongestants (pseudoephedrine, in cold meds), really any stimulants.
If it does turn out to be an infection a month or so of Antibiotics should help to clear it up. You will probably be prescribed an Antibiotic from the Flouraquinalone family (Cipro, Levaquin, Floxin, Noroxin, etc.) or Doxycycline, or Bactrim. Also avoid the Irritants that I mentioned they will help you.

Re: Pain in right testicle?

It could also be epiditimitis (sp?), which also requires antibiotics, so unfortunately you have to go to the doc, drop trow and show them where it hurts. As humiliatng as it may be, prostate issues or a simple infection of that part of the testicle that attaches to the outbound tube needs to be checked by a trained healthcare providor. This is not one of those cases where it's better to mask with pain meds. Pain is your bodys way of saying their is something wrong. Epiditimitis is pretty common and can be felt, It will present as a small "pre cooked" navy bean sized inflamation on the one end of the testicle where the tube ataches and can be quite painful. If your not having problem with urine flow it's not likely a prostate issue. It's also a good idea to be checked for cancer from time to time. MY cousin had testicular cancer at the age of 21 and it took over 20 trips to the doc, ER, urologist to be DX'd because it's so uncommon in men at that age that nobody considered the possability. Good luck, Dave.

Re: Pain in right testicle?

Yes he was succesfully treated and now has a wife and 3 children. I was just making the point that sometimes you have to keep going back if your not getting relief despite the treatment. Having to hold it is never a good idea as it can lead to Urianary tract infections and then kidney infections. Men can have referred pain too from anywahere along theurinary tract. I've passed more than my share of kidney stones and although the stones never come near the testicles the referred pain all the way down is extremely unpleaseant. Thanks for asking about the outcome of my cousins situation but try not to jump to the worst case scenario. If its hasn't improvd most likely you will need antibiotics whether it's Prostititis, a UTI or Epididimitis. Good luck, Dave
