question : short relief

hey, i only suffer from panic when i have to go to class or work where i know i will be around many people for a long time . the reason i get this anxiety is because when im nervous i usually sweat lots and that obviously makes me and other people uncomfortable so i get nervous about getting nervous... anyway

i was wondering if there was a medication i could take just before my classes or before work instead of everyday because when im at home or with friends, im perfectly fine.

thanks for the help.

Re: question : short relief

Yes, any of the benzos, like xanax, vallium, klonopin. There are many, just can't think of them now. Unlike an anti-depressant that you need to take daily for it to build up in your system, you can take any of the benzos as needed.

beta blocker tablets also help by reducing sweating, blushing and banging heart, they act quickly and go well with valium

Dear dom peri,
The others are right about something that will stop the sweating but I think you might want to know about this also. There is a condition that causes excess sweating that is often mistaken for anxiety, even by Doctors. It is called Hyperhidrosis. Here is some information on it and you should see a Dermatologist to rule this out before excepting that it is anxiety.

Hyperhidrosis is caused by a hyperactive sympathetic nervous system. The areas of the body that may be affected can occur in any combination, including the face, underarms, hands and feet. The severe sweating from hyperhidrosis may start with the beginning of each day and continue throughout the day and night or it may only be intermittent. In any case, the sweating is severe and is not just sweat. It is profuse, noticeable and very uncomfortable. However, with the right treatment, hyperhidrosis can be successfully treated and cured.

Just a suggestion that you might want to follow up on. Have a nice day and good luck with this.

Sincerely,

Sickman
