Zoloft and Klonapin - Panic Disorders Message Board

I was just switched to Zoloft and Klonapin for PA"S. I was on Klonapin and Depakote but the Depakote was casuing too much of a weight gain on a already large frame. Anyhow the last three days i have felt worse then i ever had. Does Zoloft have some kind of adjusting period? I swear i am having a heart attack or arrithmaia problems. Please let me know

Hi there!
I started taking Zoloft about a month ago and it did not agree with me at all. I was on it for almost 2 weeks and I felt worse than ever...I know that I did not give it enough time to really work. I was also prescribed ativan and now looking back....If I would have taken the ativan I know that I would have made it through the adjustment period. I took Paxil a couple of years ago and it was WONDERFUL minus the weight gain...I then quit that cold turkey because I was so disgusted with the extra weight.....Too bad we have to fight this fight!!! I go to the Dr. tomorrow to see what else I can try....It is a struggle....feel free to chat with me anytime!

It is a struggle & not always easy to figure out which med is making you feel bad. I'm currently on 3 new ones & not sure which one is making me nauseous. I'm calling my doc tomorrow, this is more than I can handle, it's been going on since Oct. trying to find the right combo of meds. UGH!

I am going to my Doc tommorow and seeing what other meds i can try. Its odd because they thought at first i was BipolarII and i was on Depakote and Klonapin which cured my panic attacks but the side effects were awaful, weight gain, no libado...i am starting to wonder if maybe i should go back to it or maybe try Paxil but i cannot afford to gain weight.

How much depakote were you on? I was on the smallest 125 maybe?? and it really help my panic. Now I am a mess again. I am on Zoloft as the Celexa I took for year pooped out and I can not get my panic under control even with
Klonopin .5 3X daily. Did you gain weight right away or did it take awhile? I seemed to gain weight on it then after a month or so it leveled off and I was fine. I am just searching for something to help. Right now I am on day 7 of Wellbutrin (only 37.5 mg) and it is really making me feel horrible. The Zoloft was bad enough now add this and I am wishing that I could try the celexa again. I just always hear they dont work again............Anyone know about this as well???
