losing weight on paxil

i have been reading quite a bit about people who have gained weight on paxil that have started taking omega 3, and are losing it. it has something to do with the way the liver produces an enzyme called leptin. i guess the omega 3 helps get the metabolism back to normal. has anyone tried the omega 3 with success? it almost sounds to good to be true, but the info. certainly makes sense.

Re: losing weight on paxil

I havent heard of omega 3 but not everyone gains weight on paxil, most stay the same and some actually lose

fear of weight gain is a common excuse for not taking it

Re: losing weight on paxil

One thing I've noticed about myself since recently getting back on Paxil - I crave sweets more. I try to resist the urge to eat candy and desserts, however, and buy candy sweetenend with Sucralose (Splenda) to satisfy my sweet tooth. I was wondering if this affected others this way and possibly could contribute to the weight gain?

Re: losing weight on paxil

I just started using " flax seed meal" in my oatmeal, its full of Omega 3's, and it only cost about $2.50, for a half pound bag, it should last me a long time.
