Weaning off Lexapro....

I've decided to stop taking Lexapro, I've been on it for almost a year now. It has helped my anxiety somewhat.

Re: Weaning off Lexapro....

I have experienced kind of the same thing with lexapro. In a way, I love this drug because it helped me SO much. However, my life has settled down now and I am unfortunately ten pounds heavier.
I attempted to wean off of Lexapro about five months ago and it was absolutely terrible. I had to go back on and about an hour after I took just a half of a pill, I felt normal again. I went about it the wrong way - I only allowed myself two weeks to come off. From what I've read recently, it takes at least ten weeks to successfully come off. Good luck... let me know how it goes!

Re: Weaning off Lexapro....

HI! I have been on lexapro for 5 months about and I have noticed that I gained about 10-15 pounds and I can not get it off!!! I was planning on switching because my husband and I want to get pregnant, My obgyn said to get on zoloft and it is safe. I have an apt. tonight with my psych. I am on 10mg now and I have to say that the lexapro has been a god send, I have had no anxiety! I am in school(college) full time! of course the down side is the sexual stuff...never in the mood! and being a newlywed and 26 that is not good and the other thing is the weight gain. I wish you all the best!
Lots of love
carly
