Question When taking meds?

I asked this question a while back and i didnt get many responses so ill try it again. As far as taking antidepressants and benzoidiazepines, does it make a difference whether you take it with food or on an empty stomach? In other words, does food effect the absorbtion of the medication into your bloodstream?

Thank you very much for any replies.

Re: When taking meds?

Hi. I think it depends on which meds. My benzos (Ativan) don't require to be taken with food an neither do my ADs (luvox). I have friends, however, who do need to take theirs with food. Check with your pharmacist; they will know more than your doctor.

Also, sometimes it's an individual thing; a lot of people look at me like I am crazy when they see me even taking an asprin without a cracker or something. Some people can't take any meds on an empty stomach.

Good luck!
