My heart rate seemed to stay above 100 even when sleeping. He sent me to a cardiologist who did stress test, and holter monitor. Heart rate was from 70 - 140. Nothing wrong with my heart. He put me on Toprol XL for the heart rate which it does seem to have helped but a month ago I actually passed out in my house. Now I'm going to a neurologist. I just don't believe I have panic disorder. I don't seem to have the same symptoms as everyone on this site. Any clue? I really am starting to think maybe its in my head....... He asks me everytime I rush to him, what were you thinking about? I wasn't thinking about anything....... I have read through some of these other articles and I don't have a panic about anything. All I worry about now is what in the world is wrong with me.
I've had an mri of the brain and it was normal. I've had an EEG and the doctor wants me to repeat the test and stay up all night the night before this time. I really don't understand this but I guess I'll know why soon enough. I just want some answers. |
Hi there
I am sorry you are going through all of this mess at this time. I was diagnosed with having panic over a year ago and like you, I didn't think I had it either. It came out of the blue for me. I was actually sleeping when it happened, but as I investigated more, I had all the classic symptoms of panic. You don't have to actually be stressed or "thinking" about anything at the time of a panic attack. They usually come from nowhere. I can be extrememly relaxed and boom, I am all of a sudden having an attack, for no reason at all. These attacks come from your subconcious mind, so you don't have to actually be thinking of anything at the time, but your subconcious is. Either way though, I would still take a few more tests just to make sure.
P.S.- I forgot to add that when all of this started for me, my blood pressure was a little high too. My doctor told me that it was from being so stressed out and sick.
