Anxiety about hair regrowth treaments - Panic Disorders Message Board

Since I have panic disorder, and pretty bad general anxiety disorder I've been very phobic about taking any medication. Even just multivitamins.

I'm starting to get a receding hairline and I have a friend of mine whose only 15 and was already losing his hair. Apparently he bought some store brand shampoo stuff and another treatment he does every once in a while for 30 min. and now he has really thick long hair which is what I used to have.

So I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of this topical stuff messing with panic disorder? Can it get into your blood stream and cause panic attacks or anything like that? Any history on side effects and such? Thanks!

I'm a late 30's female and am really noticing hair thinning. My physician recommended Rogaine. I had the same worries you did, but he assured me it's safe. I've had no problems, and he also said it was originally tested as a treatment for hypertension, so maybe it'll help lower my blood pressure!

Hm. I checked out the label for Rogaine and it said something about rapid heartbeat. Rapid heartbeat is the thing that scares me the most.
