klonopin better than ativan??? - Panic Disorders Message Board

i am on ativan for an as needed basis because i have such severe panic and anxiety problems that i am unable to work,and never have.my friend was recently put on klonopin,and she says it is working great,and says it works longer than ativan,i guess its a time released type of pill.anyone who has been on it,i'd appreciate some insight on how well it works as opposed to ativan,and r there any side effects??? thanx

I think you should try an antidepressant med as if you can get 1 working for you, it will help lots more
theres very little difference between ativan and klonapin, K probably lasts a bit longer, havent heard of any time release versions of either

klonapin was originally developed for epileptic siezures

Chuba, I once tried Ativan and it didn't help me at all, in fact, I had some strange side effects which made me stop taking it. Klonopin helps me alot.

i took both klonopin and ativan at different times and while klonopin lasts longer i found it to be too strong to the point i was getting the institutional shuffle when i walked, gave me terrible headaches and constipation. while ativan is not much better i don't have these side effects but have built up a tolerance to it.
