did i just have a panic attack? - Panic Disorders Message Board

i was in this HUGE new grocery store near where i live and i was shopping with my mom. i had to go get something in another aisle. so i went and got the item and tried to find my mom. i couldnt find her, and i didnt have my cell phone with me. i started to get really nervous. i felt like i was losing control of the situation. and at that moment i would of done anything to just get out of that darn store. when i finally found my mom 5 minutes later i felt so much better. but what iam wondering is if i had like some sort of mini panic attack?

Well sure anxiety or panic because you couldnt find your mom.I wouldnt say this is a real problem though unless it happens alot and under no known cause or when it shouldnt be happening.To get a bit panicky because you cannot find your mom seems pretty normal to me.Those with panic disorders though will panic out of the blue and or over something most people would not get worked up about.So I would just let this go

Does sound like mild similiarities.I have them severe.And i started with vision problems and cold sweats when id go to groceryy store or crowded places.Just keep control,dont let them start controlling you.If this gets worse seee your doctor.Let me know if i can help ....Libby
