 Board Guidelines: Please Read
Welcome To All Our Members,
HealthBoards aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the discussion of health-related matters. Members are expected to be aware of, repsect and abide by the HealthBoards guidelines.
The following guidelines are enforced here:
~~ It is not permissable to post or request personal contact details such as e-mail adresses.
~~ It is not permissable to use the HealthBoards as a forum for promotion of any commercial products, or indeed, self-promotion of any goods or services. Consequently, it is generally not permissable to post details of other websites. If you wish to post details of a website for the benefit of other members, please contact me (Minerva) by e-mail using the link on the Depression Board topics page and await a response.
~~ Profane language is not permitted here, including the substitution of letters of an offensive word with other keyboard characters such as: "**". Please be mindful of the potential sensitivities of the other Members, and remember that a word you find acceptable may well be offensive to them.
~~ Under no circumstances are Members to discuss matters of moderation of the Boards on the Boards themselves. Any queries regarding this forum should be addressed to me via e-mail, by using the "minerva" link on the Deression board topics page. Such correspondence should include your username and details of the post/s you are enquiring about.
~~ Differences of opinion are normal and healthy, however personal attacks will not be tolerated. If you feel that another member is being difficult, ignore their posts, and contact me with your username, and the username of the other member/s, along with the details of the post/s that are causing you concern.
~~ Discussion of suicide and suicidal thoughts and/or intentions is unacceptable, and beyond the scope of this forum. If you are feeling suicidal, click on the "Click Here For Suicide and Off-board Communications Info" link on the Depression Board topics page, and seek professional help.
~~ Discussion of Self Injury must be confined to the Self-Injury Recovery Board, which can be accessed by clicking on the "Hop To" link at the bottom of the page, scrolling down to "Self-Injury Recovery", and hitting the "Go" button.

RESPECT:
...diversity of opinion
...diversity of cultures and religion
...that it is up to members to decide whether or not to reply to your posts. Don't take it personally if you do not get responses, or the number of responses you had hoped for; there may be any number of reasons that people did not or were not able to respond to your post. Please don't pressure other people to respond, either in your posts, or by repeatedly bumping your post. Such behaviour will be deemed harassment.
...that people sometimes need space. Most of the people here have their own worries, and while the HealthBoards forums are a testament to the wonder of people's capacity to care for others despite their own problems, we must respect that they have troubles of their own. Furthermore, many people have busy lives, and don't necessarily have the time to post as often as they would like to. While it can be thoughtful and kind to enquire about an absent member, it is impolite to press the matter.
...that erratic, demanding posts are a nuisance and place undue demands on other members.
...that other people here can not be responsible for you. If you are severely troubled, you need to seek professional help. In an emergency, posting here is no substitute for that, and desperate posts merely cause a great deal of distress, as well as placing undue responsibility on other members, for your welfare.
