Some panic disorders can be treated without medicine.
Panic is a learned response and can be 'unlearned'. You need to learn to relax, and then write down what causes you panic. For example, someone who may be afraid to fly, can think about the steps before the flying actually occurs - thinking about travelling by plane - calling to reserve your ticket - Going to collect your ticket - packing your bags - going to the airport - etc.
Once you have written down all the steps that are involved, imagine yourself in that situation and see what steps actually cause you discomfort or panic.
You will then need to re-organise the steps so that the least discomforting is on the top of the list and most discomforting is at the bottom.
