Hi there, the medical dictionary states: ( latin word, palpitare, to move frequently and rapidly) a subjective sensation of an unduly rapid or irregular heat beat.
I have had this happen to me under great stressful situations, or when I get extremely tired, and during a panic attack, which I get when I drive in the mountains and there is no guard rails on either side of the road. I get shaky and my heart skips beats. After I tremble, shake, and gasp for breath it passes. It is an uncontrolable and bad feeling when that happens. I got so spaced out on anti-depressants that I quit everyone I tried. Sometimes a low dose works better than the higher doses. Explain your reaction of your meds to your doctor. I now take an ophioid med only when I feel the attack coming on and this is very seldom now. I had some hormonal problems which are now under control so that has helped me. I am hoping you will find a solution soon as well. Sincerely, Dawnsmist
