Very interesting. Prior to my first alleged episode of panic attacks (I still don't know if that is what happened to me) I had a bout of dizziness and extreme nausea that landed me in the ER. I was told to see an ENT. The ENT told me that I have pretty bad scarring on my eardrums as a result of childhood infections (I'm 31 now). Ear infection was the diagnosis. I was given antibiotics and antivert to fight the vertigo feelings.
One month later I had a "panic attack" as the docs have said. I was lightheaded, dizzy, and felt faint. Similar to the ear infection except I was so worried about it that my heart rate shot up to 143. I went to the ER again twice in three days.
All tests (EKG, CT scan, Stress Echo, and blood workups) were negative.
When my first attack occurred, I felt a hot flash come over my face and then heard, for lack of a better description, a "rumble" in my ears. I then felt faint, etc. and went to the hospital.
I, too, have felt that it was related to my ears. Let us know if you have any other info on this. Thanks.
