Well, I clipped this off the Roche site for Klonopin. Back pain is among the adverse effects. They use klonopin to cover up Zolofts' side effects like sleep/anxiety issues. If you look under benzo addiction, more will be found regarding Klonopin and other benzodiazepines. Alarming stuff that is basically ignored by the psychiatric community(otherwise they'd lose alot of customers). What I clipped is below:
Musculoskeletal System Disorders: back pain, fracture traumatic, sprains and strains, pain leg, pain nape, cramps muscle, cramps leg, pain ankle, pain shoulder, tendinitis, arthralgia, hypertonia, lumbago, pain feet, pain jaw, pain knee, swelling knee
However, looking at zoloft adverse effects, back pain is also listed. I guess any psychoactive substance that works on the brain and nervous system will cause some muscular problems. Anyway, it's definately a possibility that one or both drugs are causing this...but it's always good to get a medical opinion so a back X-ray might be in order. If that turns out fine, you may have to accept pain as a part of the drug therapy. I certainly wouldn't, but that's only me. |
