This question is for a friend of mine. She called me yesterday . She has been having some problems with depression and anxiety and her doc prescribed Zoloft for her. She has never been an aggressive person and within 20 minutes ( I know it seems kinda soon for that affect to happen) she went into a horrible rage. Her Dh had to take the kids because she felt that she would hurt them and she was just walking around going nuts. She is calling her doc back today. Is this a side affect? It sounds pretty scary to me.
It's a good idea for you friend to call her Doctor.
I tried Zoloft once and had a very similar reaction.
I called my Doctor that same day and he told me that it can make the panic worse at first.
He told me to cut the pill in half the next day, which I did.
It did make the side effects more bearable, but three days later I had an allergic reaction and had to stop taking it.
zoloft and the other antidepressants can occasionally cause rage or temper tantrums, usually when first started.
violence, road rage, etc can result, its rare but can happen
