sexual problems, vivid dreams from antidepressants - Panic Disorders Message Board

can anyone who has taken tricyclic antidepressants for stress,anxiety or panic attacks remember having strong vivid dreams or sexual problems?
these meds, imipramine, etc, were found to be effective against anxiety and panic attacks sometimes by the researcher Klein about 25 years ago, but werent all that popular as they were not advertised or promoted much.
They are still available at often low prices, as there are generics and no patents now.not much profit can be made from selling them.anafranil was the only one approved for OCD as well.

the still patented newer antidepressants are of course heavily promoted for anxiety and panic attacks, they are expensive and good profits are to be made.
However, I have never seen any evidence that they are any more useful than the tricyclics or that their side effects are any worse.Any comments on this?

it seems the vivid dreams and sexual problems for men and women only happen with the modern antidepressants??

i am not sure of the drugs you listed, but i tryed celexa for one week and it just drove me mental. could not sleep, halusination when i go to bed, really f@#ked up dreams, dry mouth, trembling, mood swings, hot flashes and zaps around my body.

dude, i just went cold turkey and ended up in the ER, thought i had an heartattack, but was the WORST panic attack i EVER had!

sadly this can and does occasionally happen when starting any new antidepressant med
I suggest you tell the doc who prescribed it for you, docs are usually educated about antidepressant meds by highly paid drug Co salesmen who 'forget' to mention the possibility of these serious side early effects
