First stab paxcil, No Way - Panic Disorders Message Board

My first prescribed med was Paxcil Cr. That night was the worst night of my life. It gave me the worst anxiety, jaw clinching , tingles, hair on end experience. The worst part was that it is a time release drug. Just when I would start to ride through these feelings, off I would go on another surge. Can anyone give me some hope for a medication without all the side effects and that is not addicting like attivan? I'm gun shy about meds now. I can't ride out side effects like that.

for most of us, ativan is not addicting, it also helps to reduce the early side effects of antidepressants such as paxil
bad reactions to antidepressants do occasionally happen, people who suffer them seldom seem to tell the doc what happened, and often never go back to that doc ever again

its thought that therefore the docs never find out about their patents bad reactions to antidepressants

Not one drug is for everyone. You need to let you doc know your side effects and your prescription will be probably switched. I took Paxil at first but had to switch to Zoloft due to extreme insomnia Paxil was causing.

Be sure to tell your doctor about the side effects. Some doctors disregard patients' complaints. Sometimes, especially when side effects like anxiety or insomnia are reported by patients, doctors increase the dose instead of changing drugs.
