Hi. I have what I guess is anxiety all the time. Disoriented and constant feeling like I just can't get enough oxygen, even taking deep breaths. I've never had a panic attack that I know of ... it's just pretty constant. Sucks. I just started taking Lexapro and I've developed a sort of painful lump in my throat/Adam'sApple, which feels like there's something there. Definitely uncomfortable. Could this be a side effect of Lexapro?

yes i too suffer anxiety all day...everyday....its been four years now and there is not one day that has passed that i am not anxious and feel out there mentally
the only thing that helps me is to do something thart keeps my mind occupied i always have a roaring in my solar plexis...its a sad way to live

lexapro can make us more anxious at first and anxiety can make us feel a lump in the throat when none is there, its unlikely to be a lexapro side effect

valium type meds should always be given with an antidepressant such as lexapro to reduce the early anxiety and other nusiance side effects, both meds go well together

I have had anxiety/panic attacks for years and sometimes I can NOT swallow. Its a horrible feeling and I have even had to spit out something that I was eating. (sorry If that sounds gross). I take ativan for attacks and it helps. I take it every nite before bed. The feeling of not being able to swallow or breathe is terrible and only those who go thru it know what I mean. Anyone tried Ativan?

Sunny, I too have had panic attacks/anxiety for years. I used to use Ativan which was not very effective for me. I now have xanax which has been wonderful. You may hear a lot about xanax being addictive but i have not found that to be a problem. The last time I got my prescription filled was over a year ago for 30 pills and I still have 5 left. I only take them when I absolutely need them. I have gotten to the point where when I start to fill a panic attack coming on I can talk myself out of them. They have been worse the last couple of months but I have been under a lot of stress. Good Luck to you.
