Post STUFFY NOSE...PANIC!?

This is a bit embarrasing but when I get a stuffy nose and if it gets real stuffy from allergies(runny nose and sneezing) I get panicky when it gets real stuffy. I get very anxious especially at nite and I will not sleep the WHOLE nite!! Crazy isn't it? It drives me nuts. I also feel like I have to force myself to breathe or I get shortness of breath! It just becomes a vicious cycle and it literally makes me panic and crazy. Does anyone have any stupid anxieties like this?

It gets me depressed now b/c it seems that everything makes me jumpy and anxious.

Thanks in advance,

Serena

Its funny that you mention that because the same thing has been happening to me as well. In fact, I had my weekly appointment with my doc, and he must have picked up on my stuffy, nasally speech because he asked how was handling the shortness of breath with my allergies. I told him its been triggering minor panic attacks, i.e. sensation of not having enough air. Apparently, this is VERY common.

Wow! Thought I was the only one like this. When I wake up in the morning, I'm congested for at least 2 hours. It takes that long to drain. I feel weak, can't breathe, tight in my chest, shaky, feels like I'm gonna lose it! It definitely brings on the anxiety. It seems as though my muscles just completely tighten and I am unable to relax. You're not the only one out there experiencing this horrible feeling.
