? on paxil & wellbutrin - Panic Disorders Message Board

I was wondering if anyone takes both? I was considering asking my doctor about prescribing wellbutrin cuz I heard it's suppose to help with weightgain and low sex drive. Any info on whether I should take both or not? Thanks!

wellburtin is an antidepressant that is being promoted to docs as a cure for sexual problems caused by other antidepressants, they say wellbutrin should be added to the other antidepressant, which puzzles me as they dont simply suggest the patient be swapped to wellbutrin alone

all antidepressants are supposed to be effective against panic attacks and anxiety???

in general with weight gain, you only gain if you eat more, some meds improve the appetite, also a reduction of depression or anxiety often causes us to eat more

In my own experience, Wellbutrin is a good antidepressant, but not a good anxiety med. At least it causes milder side effects compared to SSRI's.

I was wondering the same thing..
I was on Wellbutrin and due to anxiety/depression, put on PaxilCR instead.
Now 10lbs. later I am thinking of switching back or combining, but I am not sure either!

thanks for the replies. I was just wondering cuz my brother (whom also suffers from panic attacks) takes zoloft and busbar and he's never had any side effects or weightgain and he feels perfectly fine. He's never tired and I feel like crap by the end of the day and can't stay awake past 9p.m.
I though about calling my doctor and asking her if she thought maybe that would help. I still am having trouble with the whole sex thing (haven't orgasmed since a week after starting paxil) and I am very frustrated right now!
