Paxil and Yawning - Panic Disorders Message Board

Has anyone experienced excessive yawning while taking Paxil? I do and I hate it!!! If anyone has experienced this, how long did it take to subside. I was on Paxil about 3 years ago and didn't have this side effect. I know that one of the side effects listed for Paxil is yawning but I need to know if anyone else has experienced it.

Yes, and it drove me nuts!
It seemed to get better the longer I took it. Maybe about 2 months into the treatment I didn't notice it anymore. The hyper-sweating never stopped until I stopped the Paxil. I took Paxil for a little over a year. It worked wonders for the anxiety and depression.

Hi,
I get the same thing but I am taking celexa.
I hope all side effects get better as the days go by in taking this med!!!! It has only been 19 days, so I am hoping 12 weeks into this med is going to get better I also have dry mouth that drives me nutz too and little appitite (but at lleast I lost 10lbs) thats the only good thing!!!! I see a phys. for the 1st time the 28th and I will ask him whats up with all these side effects and I will be asking my general prac. who gave me the meds whats up too, I am just thinking that it does take time for your body to adjust. My side effects are not unbearable it is something I could live with at least the panic/anxiety has subsided alot since I have been taking them (celexa & ativan when needed) And ativan I only take at bedtime .5mg it helps me sleep a little bit better coz another side effect I have is, I am restless at night (broken up sleep) which is a drag too.

Thanks so much for that advice. I will try it at night and see if it makes a difference. I had first started with 10mg, then with 5mg and finally 2.5mg. With 2.5mg I don't get the yawn. I just took 5mg today and waiting to see what happens. I hate the yawning. It's very annoying.
