Unhappy Panic Attack

I have been on Diocam (Clonazepam) and Foxetin (Fluoxetina) for about a year now (because of depression and panic dissorder).

Tonight I woke up with a panic attack and was unable to get back to sleep again, so I wanted to post this.

I just need help. I'm desperate. I don't want that to ever happen again.

I've been trying to cut down the medicine, because I don't want to become dependent. Can anyone give me some word of advice? Does anyone share the same nightmarish problem?

Hi your meds are generally known as rivotril/klonapin and prozac and are both useful, however the prozac can stop working and occasionally never works, it should reduce both depression and panic attacks, has it been doing this, perhaps the dose needs to be upped?

panic attacks are unpleasant but cant harm you, many worse things can happen to people, a fairly large dose of clonazepam at the start of a panic attack will greatly reduce it

tell us more, are you following any recovery methods for the anxiety and panic attacks?

people often stay on your meds for years with no dependancy problems

One year is not too much. And not everyone becomes dependent. Even if you did, tapering down little by little would prevent possible withdrawals.

So don't worry now about dependence, try instead to control your anxiety. If you are not going to therapy or counseling try to get some self-help books, or try relaxation techniques from yoga or tai-chi.

Don't start to cut down on your medicine if you are still suffering panic attacks.

I've been going through some therapy. And I WAS getting to feel a lot better. But the las few weeks it seems like I'm going back to the deppresion and the attacks.

I'm trying to control them, since I know they really won't do me real harm. But anyway, you know how unbearable these things can get.

I had a great day today, though. I went to the movies with a bunch of friends. Even though the anxiety was trying to overcome me inside the theater I managed to control it. I think that's a won battle.
