left sided chest pain - Panic Disorders Message Board

Hi,

I know a lot of people get chest pain with anxiety. I have been having left sided chest pain with my anxiety for a month now. Yesterday I had this pain in the left side of my chest (more of an achy feeling) that felt like it went through to my back. It lasted for several hours. Could anxiety have caused this?

I definitely think anxiety can do it to you. I am 34 and have been having left sided chest pain for 5 years and all my tests have come back normal. My pain is more like a dull ache or throbbing. My doctor is convinced it is not cardiovascular in nature but convincing me of that is another story. Just wanted you to know that all of my chest pain is left sided, and so far, does not seem related to my heart but to my panic disorder.

if anxiety is the cause, some valium type meds will relax the muscles and stop it for a while
