Hry33 question ?? HELP ANYONE!!!! - Panic Disorders Message Board

MY Dr. perscribed serax 10mg. I took my first dose last night, felt calm and fell fast asleep. I woke up this morning groggy, dizzy and not feeling well at all. then BAM!! MAJOR SHAKES, heart beating soo fast couldn't catch my breath, like a chronic panic attack!
I called the pharmacy they said to call the doctor.SO I did he said that I shouldn't be feeling like this if anything I should be relaxed! I started out relaxed and now feel WORSE THAN before! Is this common if the dose is too high to have this reaction?
HE SAID to try it again over the weekend and if it happens again he will write something eles. I AM SARED to try it again! I can't break them in half cause they are capsules. I can't even stand without feeling like I am drunk/dizzy.
he said 12 hours to wear off! I'd rather feel like I did before THEN like this.
WHY IS THIS HAPPING????

NEXT DAY UPDATE:
I am feeling alittle better today. I still feel like I am in a fog. My head feels heavier than usual. I am wondering could this reaction really happen if the dose of valuim was too high? Or maybe there is really something physically wrong with me and the medication made it worse?

to scared, serax is a valium type med and your dose was low, your reaction is unususl, have you taken other benzo or valium type meds before?

do you have a fear or phobia about swallowing tablets or taking meds?

no I have never taken valuim or anything in it's class. I have somewhat of a pil phobia, athought when I took the serax I was sooo eager for it to work so I can feel better! The doctor said it should have done the opposite, make me calm and it did at first until I woke up and couldn't stand! I do have a unknown vertigo problem maybe the serax made it worse or maybe my body reacted when coming off the serax I don't know, I am scared to take another my DR. said to try another time or he wil write something eles. I give up! I am so tierd of feeling like this I don't think I will ever be the same again, maybe something physically is causing the panic attacks and these Dr.'s are MISSING IT!
all I know is I feel horriable ALL THE TIME!

some do have unusual reactions to these benzo meds but I think you should try another, ask doc to prescribe one that comes as a tablet, so you can break it into halves or quarters to get very small starting doses avoid xanax XR and other slow release benzos

anxiety mostly causes panic attacks but food allergies occasionally can be responsible
